MIAMI-DADE COUNTY COMMISSION APPROVED A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FURTHER DISCUSSIONS WITH BRIGHTLINE, FLORIDA EAST COAST RAILWAY AND THE COUNTY to create a commuter rail on Friday. This commuter system would operate between downtown Miami and Aventura with up to eight stations. Separate deals would need to be established with Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Commissioner Salley Heyman said the resolution does not finalize financial obligations to Brightline.
