STATE SENATOR DEBBIE MAYFIELD HAS REFILED THE FLORIDA HIGH-SPEED PASSENGER RAIL SAFETY ACT. This would provide the Florida Department of Transporation the authority to modify any high-speed passenger rail services in the state, as well as requiring railroad companies operating a high-speed rail system to be solely responsible for maintenance, improvement, and upgrade fees, etc.

Mayfield's first bill, S 386, was denied in Community Affairs.

SB 572 was filed on October 20 and has been placed on the Committee agenda to be discussed tomorrow (November 14) at 2 p.m.
