Numerous officials have given numerous reasons for the numerous benefits All Aboard Florida will bring to our communities, not to mention the projected number of riders and the projected number of jobs to be provided. I believe that the mathematical skills of these proponents of progress are debatable, since it is all conjecture on their parts.

What is not debatable is that these trains will be zooming past all towns between West Palm Beach and Orlando at speeds of 79 to 125 mph without stopping. I don’t imagine passengers will get to experience much of Lake Worth’s culture, Jupiter’s nature, or Stuart’s ambiance, unless they figure out a way to detrain at those speeds.

AAF’s Julie Edwards says other areas, besides the big four, will benefit? How will this happen? Where are the “centrally located stations”? (other than Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm and Orlando?) “Spending money on food and beverages”? Staying at hotels”? “Seeing area attractions”? At 125 mph? Arrogant attitudes like this are typical of most AAF proponents.
