BREAKING NEWS: NOTICE FROM INDIAN RIVER COUNTY ATTORNEY’S OFFICE REGARDING CANCELLATION OF THE MAY 28th FDFC MEETING

At 11:18 AM this morning, Beth Frady of the FDFC and Enterprise Florida released the following statement:
"The FDFC meeting on the 28th has been canceled and no date has been finalized to reschedule it. This is all of the information the FDFC has at this time."
This was followed by a statement from the IRC Attorney’s office that it was their understanding that “the FDFC meeting scheduled for May 28th has been cancelled at the request of the applicant (AAF).”
This is the latest ‘official’ comment from the IRC attorney’s office regarding the meeting cancelation:
Our office just received an email from a reporter that said All Aboard Florida has stated “We and others have requested a postponement due to a scheduling conflict with the court hearing.” For the record, IRC never requested that the meeting be postponed. We were fully prepared to go to Orlando on the 28th and Washington DC on the 29th for the hearing.
I believe this is clearly AAF’s attempt to diminish the importance of their canceling the special public meeting of the FDFC board to hear public comment on their vote on the issuance of the Private Activity Bonds. Everyone, including hundreds of Treasure Coast residents, was prepared to go to Orlando and give testimony regarding this issue but AAF does not want the FDFC Board to vote on the issuance at this time.
The hearing before the federal district court in Washington, DC is still scheduled for May 29th and at this moment will proceed as planned. The parties requesting the injunction to stop the sale of the bonds are required to have their written arguments delivered to the court by Monday, May 18 and they will be doing so on schedule.
As is typically the case with AAF, we have very little verifiable information besides what they have told their friends at Enterprise Florida and the FDFC.
