All Aboard Florida has announced a continuous quiet zone stretching from Hallandale Beach to downtown West Palm Beach. This equals more trains, more noise, more costs to tax payers, and decrease in safety.

What they are not announcing is the it will be funded by taxpayers - All Aboard Florida said governments have set aside enough money for the company to design and construct the quiet zone as it completes safety improvements along the Florida East Coast Railway tracks. That means tax payers are paying the bill, not AAF. Further, quiet zones are not "quiet" - the horns still sound at the crossing, just not in advance and after the crossing. Finally, the FRA has included that quiet zones have increased the number of night time collisions.- see this document: https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2003/12/18/03-30606/use-of-loco...
